Travelling with kids is rarely the dreamy, aesthetic holiday montage everyone posts on Instagram.

Sometimes it's a toddler who point-blank refuses to sit down. Someone crying (could be the kids… could be you). Trying to eat one snack in peace like it's a day-spa experience. And — let's not pretend otherwise — it's expensive.

I'm Lou: mum of two, travel obsessive, and the founder of Travel X.

I'm also the founder of Kooshy Kids. Well — I was. Yep, both brands were mine. And I've never once been quiet about it.

Confused? Let me explain, because it's simpler than it sounds.

For over 10 years I've lived and breathed family-travel accessories and helped families all over the world travel better. I built that the hard way — by showing up, obsessing over the details, and making products that do exactly what they promise.

So here's why Travel X exists.

For years I watched families get burned by cheap knock-offs — the kind that fall apart at exactly the wrong moment, 35,000 feet up. You know the saying: you get what you pay for. At that price, are you really getting quality? Safety standards? A warranty? Anyone who'll actually stand behind it? When it's my own child using it on a plane, that's not a gamble I'm willing to take.

So I made a call. Instead of watching families feel like their only option was to roll the dice on something random, I built the safe alternative myself.

Travel X.

I basically made a dupe of my own brand — on purpose, and completely out in the open. Crazy? Maybe. But it needed to exist.

Not every family wanted (or needed) every extra that came with the full Kooshy Kids experience. Some just wanted the essentials: something that fit the budget, but was still safe, non-toxic, and made properly — not churned out in questionable conditions with zero standards. Travel X gives families that choice, without the risk. The essentials. Nothing more, nothing less.

Travel X launched in 2024. Kooshy Kids has since closed its doors, and now I run Travel X day to day — my focus and passion is now entirely on Travel X, same expertise, same obsession with getting it right.
