Everything you need to know before you fly & buy.
New here? Welcome. Here's everything you might be wondering, answered straight.
Who's behind Travel X?
Travel X was founded by Lou — the same founder behind Kooshy Kids (no longer trading), an award-winning brand and the former leader in the family travel comfort space that helped hundreds of thousands of families travel more comfortably across the globe.
Same founder. Same manufacturer. Same obsession with quality and safety.
The difference? Travel X strips back the extras and the brand premium so we can offer the essentials at a more accessible price. Different name, different colours, same standards behind the scenes. So when you buy Travel X, you're not buying a cheap knock-off or a gamble — you're buying kit built by someone who's been doing this for nearly a decade.
If it's cheaper than Kooshy Kids was, is it actually as good?
Yes — and here's exactly why. It's the same founder, the same manufacturer, and the same safety standards. What's different is what we left out: the lifetime guarantees, the airline guarantees, the premium packaging, the brand markup. The product doing the actual job? Same calibre. You're paying less because we stripped back the extras, not the quality.
How does Travel X keep prices so low?
No magic tricks, just smart choices. Cost of living is hitting families hard, and we don't think travel comfort should be the thing you cut. So we keep Travel X affordable by focusing on what matters:
- safe, functional designs
- quality materials (same manufacturer as our founder's previous award-winning brand)
- simplified packaging and extras
- a shorter warranty period to keep pricing low
It's intentionally simplified, so more families can travel comfortably without paying for features they don't need.
Are Travel X products good quality?
Yes, and we take it seriously — we have for a long time. Our inflatables are built to be durable, reliable and travel-ready, with premium valves for quick inflation and fast deflation. They're designed to fit properly, feel comfortable, and survive real family travel (aka chaos, crumbs, and kids doing kid things).
Are Travel X products safe and reliable?
Safety is non-negotiable for us. It always has been. Our products are designed with safety features front of mind, and we test our kit to make sure it's right for family travel. The same standards that earned our founder's previous brand thousands of 5-star reviews from real families apply here.
Why choose Travel X over Temu, Kmart or Amazon?
The cheap lookalikes might look similar in a photo, but they're often missing the safety features, quality materials and proper testing that matter when your child is using them at 35,000 feet. Travel X is designed by a founder who's been making travel kit for families for nearly a decade — so you're getting something that's actually been thought through, tested and built for real travel, at a price that keeps the holiday budget happy.
Will it fit my child and the plane seat?
Yes — and the trick is how you inflate it. Pop it into the space first (on the floor or the seat, depending on the product) and inflate it in place. It'll expand to fill the gap, whether you're in budget, regular or premium economy, or even a bulkhead/bassinet row.
What you don't want to do is inflate it fully and then try to wedge it in — it probably won't fit that way, and you risk puncturing it. Inflate in place, every time, and you're golden.
One tip for the Sky Cocoon: go easy on the air — just 5–6 breaths and leave it squishy. Fully inflated it goes rigid, which isn't comfy and hogs too much space. Soft and squishy is the sweet spot.
How do I know if Travel X products are allowed on my airline?
Most airlines are fine with travel comfort accessories, but rules vary and can change without notice. We recommend checking with your airline before you fly, especially for international travel. We also keep a list of airlines that have been fine with our products based on customer feedback. And if you're not sure which product suits your airline, our quick airline quiz will point you to the right one (the Sky Cocoon is our go-to when an airline doesn't allow footwell products).
A quick heads up: we don't offer refunds if your airline doesn't allow you to use the product on board, so it's genuinely worth a quick check with them before you buy.
How do I know I'm getting a genuine Travel X product?
Only buy directly from our website. There are plenty of cheap lookalikes online, and while they might look similar in a photo, they don't come with the same quality, warranty, customer support — or the safety features we build in. Buying direct also supports an Aussie business (and we love you for that).
What's the Stress Test, and why should I do it?
Easy peasy, and it's how you activate your warranty. Inflate your product and leave it overnight or for 6 hours. Still inflated after that? You're good to go — just register your warranty through our online form within 72 hours of receiving your order. Deflated? Contact us right away — we'll troubleshoot with you, or send a replacement if we can't fix it. This quick check catches the rare faulty product before your trip, not during it.
What warranty do I get, and how do I activate it?
Every Travel X product comes with a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing faults — but you'll need to activate it, and it takes two minutes.
When your order arrives, do the Stress Test: inflate your product and leave it overnight or for 6 hours. Still firm after that? Perfect. Then register your warranty through our online form within 72 hours of receiving your order, and you're covered for 12 months.
If it didn't hold air, register within that same 72-hour window and let us know — we'll troubleshoot with you, or send a replacement if we can't get it sorted.
Two things to know: the 72-hour window is how we catch the rare faulty product before you're 35,000 feet up, so don't skip it. And the warranty covers manufacturing faults — not general wear and tear or accidental damage (your toddler going at it with a fork, sadly, is on you).
Can I return my product if I change my mind?
Because we keep Travel X pricing as low as possible, we don't offer change-of-mind returns. But if your item arrives faulty, just email us, and we'll sort it quickly and fairly. Don't forget to do the Stress Test and register within 72 hours of receiving your order so we can help you as fast as possible.

Got any tips for travelling with kids?
Do we ever — nearly ten years of helping families will do that. A few classics:
- pack snacks like you're preparing for the apocalypse
- bring a surprise toy or activity for take-off
- download shows before you leave home
- keep a spare outfit within arm's reach (you already know why)
And yes, a sense of humour helps. A lot.
How do I reach you if I've got more questions?
We're here for you. Email info@travelxstore.com.au and we'll help you out. You can also DM us on socials if that's easier — we're friendly, we promise.
